Hello All,

Just wanted to stop in and show my support - kind of like just showing up to a house-warming party. No presents, just presence. Been a long-time fan of Teye's work, but for me the guitars occupy an unusual niche as they are both: a.) quite expensive, and b.) always being revised and improved in all sorts of innovative ways. Even when I think I'm honed in on a model, something like this konstantinopolis starts popping up in pics and I hear word of a trem. So, someday I hope! Can probably only afford one shot so I'm still reluctant even after a couple of years of email exchanges and stalking! =)

Jason,

welcome here! And thank you for your kind words. Yes, I probably drive people crazy with all the new models... Am having way too much fun with all this! Can you imagine dreaming up a model and then just being able to make it a reality after a few short months? Well, not so with the Konstantinopolis: that one has required a lot of thinking, decisions, and now the hunt for appropriate materials...stay tuned.

Jason, back in 2008 or early 9 you started bugging me about a La India with abalone outline. Back then, my front plates were way too shiny for this combo to work visually, and I recall dissuading you from it. Then a year later, our dealer Jim Palotta / Tradarama asked for one, and I tried again, this time with the slightly more subdued newer plates, and... it worked!

I have plans to use my Konstantinopolis-design in a different way on a more affordable guitar too, so also there, stay tuned!

A few short months ago, someone asked me for a 5-string single-pickup guitar with skull-and-bones graphix: this became the Scallywag guitar, now also being offered in a 6-string version (see Wes's post in the FOR SALE section)

Yesterday I sold my third 5-string Scallywag guitar...

And thus, new models keep appearing...

Hope to see you here often, and thanks for joining!

The thing about the subdued plate is that, so far, I've only seen it with the S-style engraving with the coarse black fill to the etches. I have this image in my mind's eye of old victorian metalwork which would occasionally have some purple gemstone in it - whether this is amethyst or purple abalone, or something else altogether I'm not sure, but I think it would look fantastic to have this scheme on a La-India - even with less of a matte look to the metal. Though, I also have this vision that it'd be great with the trem, if the trem turns out to be a bigsby sort of unit that attaches around the body of the guitar rather than a small float style. Looking forward to it!

I also really like that you tiered the A-series La-Perla based on options.

Oh, and I have a new lead on where to source the right kind of purple material if it becomes a financial possibility again. Damn grad school salary - year 7 of 10...
